Blessed Bouvier Kennels began in a very personal way. My family is growing and we wanted to find some way to reward our children as we taught them responsibilities of life and family. Someone gave me the idea to get our children a family dog and teach them to help with the care as a small part of their schooling. I began to study dozens of different breeds to find the best choice as a companion for my children and my family. I must admit that we originally thought that a large breed dog would be too big for our small house and yard. We preferred larger dogs and have bred Golden Retrievers in the past. We love the Golden Retriever breed, but my wife developed an allergy that made having this breed very uncomfortable. We considered having small dogs, but had known many small dogs that were snappy, territorial, and sometimes just mean. In my research I was intrigued by the Bouvier des Flandres breed. I found that they were hypoallergenic, good with children, and have a great desire to please. We also learned that they have been bred for farm-work and are very attentive to their surroundings. I went on the hunt for an AKC Bouvier that had been brought into this world by responsible a breeder. We purchased one Brindle female with white markings and named her Lady. We fell in love with her. She turned out to be an amazing dog and was a pleasure to have apart of our family. We were sold on the breed so much that we got a male Fawn Bouvier and named him Barron. Both of these dogs are companions to our family and are in training to be official Therapy dogs.
We began breeding to share the beautiful experience of owning Bouvier des Flandres with others while the proceeds go toward helping our children have a better education. These puppies are conceived and trained with the purpose to be more than a pet. They will be a part of your family. They will be life companions who bring joy and happiness into your everyday life.
Our Unique purpose required us to think through a unique process that would produce these special companions.
We are not business people. We do not make decisions regarding our animals based on what is the cheapest or will bring the highest profit. Instead, we choose to give our dogs and puppies what is required to make them as healthy as possible so that they can pass on good energy and personality to the family. In addition, we do some socialization work that most breeders will not do. As you continue the proper training, these dogs will be a helpful addition to your home and family.
Lady Genesis is our beautiful dam. She is attentive, intelligent, and loving. She is 25 inches high at her withers and weighs 80 lbs. We are so thankful to have her as a part of our family!
